Dr. Eshwar P. Gumidyala is a fully licensed and experienced psychiatrist who has practiced at Horizons Behavioral Health since 1998. He also serves as the Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services and Section Chair for the Department of Psychiatry at Centegra Health Systems. He is on staff at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science, and he supervises medical students in clinical rotations at Centegra Health Systems.
Dr. Gumidyala treats patients in an inpatient setting, partial hospitalization (including behavioral health and dual diagnosis patients) as well as outpatient psychiatry at Horizons Behavioral Health. He specializes in the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, and personality disorders. His areas of interest include psychiatric disorders secondary to traumatic brain injury, seizure disorder, and stroke mood disorders.
Dr Gumidyala received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Kakatiya University in India. He completed a rotating internship at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital. Dr. Gumidyala served as a family practitioner at Government Civil Hospital before coming to the United States to complete a residency in Psychiatry at Finch University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School, serving as Chief Resident during his final year.
Dr. Gumidyala is a member of several professional organizations including the American Psychiatric Association, Illinois Psychiatric Society, Indo-American Psychiatric Association, and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.
Dr. Gumidyala is fluent in English, Hindi, and Telugu.
Dr. V. Chowdary Jampala is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with additional expertise in Geriatric Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry with over 30 years of experience. He currently practices at Horizons Behavioral Health and serves as Professor and Associate Chairman of Psychiatry at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/Chicago Medical School.
Dr. Jampala graduated with his Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) degree from Guntur Medical College, and completed a rotating internship at Government General Hospital in India. He then came to the United States and completed a residency in General Adult Psychiatry at the University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School, serving as Chief Resident during his final two years. He also completed post-graduate studies in research neuropsychology.
In addition to his practice experience, Dr. Jampala is a member of several professional organizations including the American Psychiatric Association, Illinois Psychiatric Society, and Indo-American Psychiatric Association. He has participated in several research studies, the results of which have been published in leading medical journals, and he has co-written many book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles.
Dr. Javed is board certified in General Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He has worked over 10 years in this field. His work involves a family based approach focusing on the whole family system, rather than “just the patient”. This helps use all available resources for the patient’s benefit. Dr. Javed also attempts to make behavioral connections behind problems his patients are working to overcome.
Dr. Javed received training in General Adult Psychiatry in Nashville, Tennessee, and then Child & Adolescent Psychiatry right here at Children’s Memorial Hospital of Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois. He is fluent in English, Urdu, and Punjabi languages.
Dr. Javed has worked with people who have ADHD, Mood Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, and various other conditions, both in children and in adults. Dr. Javed’s best work lies in Diagnoses, Differential Diagnoses, and Treatment Planning Recommendations above and beyond writing a prescription. Ray S. Kim, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist, who is board-certified in forensic psychology and board-registered in mental illness/substance abuse. He has practiced at Horizons Behavioral Health since 1997. Dr. Kim serves as Director of Clinical Training and Forensic Outpatient Director at Chicago Metropolitan Forensic Services.
Dr. Kim received his bachelor’s degree with departmental honors in Psychology from Northwestern University, and graduated with both a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Temple University. He completed postdoctoral training in Child and Adolescent Psychology at the Rogers Park Child and Adolescent Services Program, and Forensic Psychology at Elgin Mental Health Center.
In addition to his training and experience, Dr. Kim has participated in research in the field of psychology, the results of which have been published in leading journals and books. He is a Diplomate of the American Psychotherapy Association and a Fellow of the American College of Advanced Practice Psychologists, as well as a member of other professional organizations.
Dr. Madamala is Board Certified in both General and Child Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has been working in multi-disciplinary settings including schools, residential programs, and clinics since 1978. Dr. Madamala has been with Horizons Behavioral Health since 1993. She was the medical director for adolescent programs at Centegra Hospitals until the programs ended in 2008. She continues to consult with local schools, community agencies and therapists. Dr. Madamala is compassionate about helping children, teens and their families with emotional and behavioral issues at home, school, and in the community. She also enjoys caring for women. Dr. Madamala is always willing to go that extra mile to assure the best comprehensive care using a team approach, engaging other agencies involved in the patient’s care. As tribute to her dedication, Dr. Madamala was named a Top Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Before joining at Horizons Behavioral Health, Dr. Madamala practiced as a child psychiatrist at the Wilder Child Guidance Clinic at the Wilder Foundation in St. Paul, MN for 15 years. She provided psychiatric consultations, evaluations, and treatment of children, teenagers and adults at the Foundation’s clinics, foster homes and residential treatment centers. Dr. Madamala also developed a residential treatment program for pregnant teenagers and teen mothers.
Dr. Madamala graduated from Lady Harding Medical College in New Delhi, India and completed residencies in both pediatrics and OB/GYN. She received her diploma in Obstetrics from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in England. Dr. Madamala completed residencies in both Child and Adult Psychiatry at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She is an active member of various professional organizations including a Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the Illinois Psychiatric Association, the Indo-American Psychiatric Association, the Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the National Alliance of Mental Illness.
